Carte de visite.

Studio of Louis Dolibo, 24 St. Georges Road, Brighton. (A quite interesting looking new restaurant, Twenty Four St Georges, now operates from the premises.)

Bought from an eBay seller in Paralimni, Cyprus.

Dolibo, often credited "from Paris" after his name, was active in Brighton from 1864-1880. In an 1867 directory he is listed as a "picture frame maker".

A very sweet pair,so nicely posed. Can't help but compare these lovely delicate images with today's colourful, cheery ones -
A prize, Ben.

[] I wonder if today's "colourful and cheery" studio portraits will ever be considered a "prize" to a future collector?

An engaging image, Ben.
As Shirley said, a prize.
