Full length video (part 1 of 4) of the AAAI 2010 Small Scale Manipulation Chess Challenge, wherein the Tekkotsu Lab (CMU) plays the team from Georgia Institute of Technology. Each team demonstrates a very different approach to playing the game. Note that the point of this challenge is not to determine the best chess moves (that has been well addressed by others, e.g. IBM's Deep Blue) but rather to sense and physically move the chess pieces around the board.
